Green Coffee: Las Capucas, Honduras
Farm: In western Honduras, near the border with Guatemala in a cloud forest at the base of the country’s highest mountain grow coffees that fuel the work being done by Cooperativa Capucas Limitada, or Las Capucas. The coop is comprised of approximately 12 communities dedicated to promoting regional sustainability, both environmentally through organic farming practices and socially by supporting programs that reduce poverty and increase standards of living. Recent projects for Las Capucas include the construction of a community library which now conducts classes on how to use any of the library’s 11 computers and provides a safe place for children to complete their homework.
Cupping Notes: Gentle tangerine sweetness with soft butterscotch and toasted marshmallow. A clean finish with a faint note of lime.
